Project Details
A Concord-area warehouse owner called after the shipping dock pedestrian door was kicked in overnight. The skin was buckled, the lock edge torn and the frame scarred, leaving the building open.
Scope
- Arrive and board the opening at 2am with plywood and a steel bar
- Photograph damage for the police report and insurer
- Measure the existing frame at first light and confirm it was sound
- Supply an insulated 16-gauge galvanneal hollow metal door matched to size and handing
- Transfer the existing Von Duprin exit device and fit new sweeps and weatherstripping
Outcome
Shipping continued through a side door all week. The new door was hung by Thursday, the device was re-tested for free egress and latching, and the insurance claim was direct-billed so the owner did not carry the cost.
Why it worked
Securing first, then measuring and ordering, kept the building safe without rushing a wrong-size door. Reusing the sound frame and exit device kept the replacement inside a single install visit.
