Aluminum Entrances for Offices and Institutions
The main entrance of an office building or institution does a lot of work. It handles peak-hour rushes, keeps winter air out, controls who gets in and still needs to look like the front of a building tenants are proud of. Aluminum entrance systems are built for exactly that job.
We install Kawneer, YKK AP and Vistawall aluminum entrances for office lobbies, vestibules, medical buildings and institutional entrances across Toronto and the GTA. Each package is designed with the hardware, glazing and access control it needs from day one, and the same crews that run our Toronto commercial door repair work service it after handover.
Entrance Configurations
Single and pair doors
Medium and wide stile doors suit lobby traffic far better than narrow stile. Pairs give a wider opening for deliveries and peak traffic.
Sidelites and transoms
Glass panels beside and above the doors bring light into the lobby and frame the entrance. They are part of the same aluminum system and are glazed to match.
Vestibules
Two sets of doors with a space between them cut drafts dramatically. For exposed Toronto lobbies, a vestibule is often the best comfort upgrade available.
Finishes and Glass
Clear anodized is the most common finish, with dark bronze and black for buildings that want a darker look. Thermally broken frames reduce heat loss and condensation. Glass options include tempered, laminated and insulated units, chosen for security, comfort and code.
Hardware Packages
- Dorma or LCN closers sized for the door and wind load
- Continuous geared hinges for heavy traffic, or offset pivots
- Von Duprin narrow-stile exit devices where the entrance is a required exit
- Electrified strikes, power transfer and door position switches for card access
- Optional low-energy or full-power operators for accessibility

Built for Access Control
Retrofitting card access into an existing aluminum door means cutting into stiles and frames that were never prepped for it. Installing access-control-ready hardware at the start is cleaner and cheaper. We install electrified strikes, power transfer and request-to-exit devices, then commission the opening together with your security vendor.
On one Mississauga office, a landlord upgrading an Airport Corporate Centre lobby needed a two-door vestibule with card access. The crew installed a Kawneer wide stile entrance with continuous hinges, LCN closers and electrified strikes, and commissioned it with the access control vendor over one weekend. Card readers went live on the first test. For more on electrified hardware, see commercial door access control installation.
Minimal Lobby Disruption
Lobby entrances are installed with tenant access in mind. Most installs take two to four days on site and are often scheduled over a weekend. Temporary access routes are planned with property management before work starts.
