## Project Details

A general contractor fitting out a two-floor medical office on the Highway 7 corridor needed one trade to own the Division 8 scope: 34 openings across exam rooms, offices, corridors and stairs, plus the main aluminum entrance.

### Scope

- Review the hardware schedule and submit shop drawings and product data
- Supply and set hollow metal frames in steel stud partitions during framing
- Supply and hang solid-core wood and hollow metal doors after paint
- Install six labelled 60-minute fire door assemblies tested to CAN/ULC-S104
- Install the aluminum entrance with closer, deadlock and accessible operator prep
- Install finish hardware per opening and close out with keys and warranties

### Outcome

Frames were set in week two of framing, doors were hung after paint, and the hardware schedule was closed out in a single deficiency walk. The GC kept the same crew lead from first submittal to final keys.

### Why it worked

Catching frame and hardware conflicts at the submittal stage meant nothing had to be re-ordered on site. One trade owning frames, doors and hardware removed the usual finger-pointing at closeout.
